Charlie Whetzel

What can I say about Charlie Whetzel, the most proper skate dork you could ask for.  He skated in a way that made you wonder if his tricks were super sick or just a flook.  He was also a total weirdo, and I’m guessing he still is – in a good way!

His non-serious weirdness was probably why I started talking to him at the skatepark in the first place.  Last I saw him he was working at my local grocery store, and even when I wasn’t skateboarding as much I still got the same “Hey Bud!” every time from him.  I appreciate how much fun he looked like he was having, whether skating or bagging groceries.  Charlie keeps it short and sweet with his answers, and he actually drew a heart for the “Why do you keep skating?” question.

A few years ago I came up with a set of questions about skateboarding.  These were Charlie’s answers.
